Masters Message October 2017

Greetings Brothers!

Our  September  meeting  brought  an  opening  to  our  new  Masonic  year  and  it  was  wonderful  to  see  so  many  of  our  Brothers  in  attendance.  The guest speaker, John McNiff, came dressed in character as Roger Williams and  spoke  for  about  45  minutes  about  the  life  and  times  of  our  state’s  founder.    As  per  usual  with  Mr.  McNiff,  the  45  minutes  breezed   by!   I   learned   a   few   new   things   about   the   founding   of   Rhode   Island   and   I hope everyone found the talk interesting.  The month of October brings a lot of activity in  the  quarries  of  masonry.    On  the  11th,  your  officers  will  be  rehearsing    the  EA degree  under  the  watchful  eye  of  Worshipful  Brothers Tony Marcello and Arthur Bajakian.   The District Deputy Grand Master will be making his official visitation  to  Rising  Sun  Lodge  on  October  16th.    If  you’re  free  that  night,  please  consider  meeting  us  around  7:00  at  the  Grand  Lodge building for that visitation.  October 16th will be our stated meeting where the EA degree is slated to be exemplified.  It would make  a  great  impression  on  the  candidates  to  see  full  sidelines  welcoming them into our gentle craft.

The Grand Lodge Youth Committee is hosting a Halloween party on October 28th at Charity Lodge in Kenyon.  The Committee is comprised of all St Johns 1P Brothers and the events are always great family fun.  The party begins at 4:00PM with pressing our own fresh cider.  After dark there will be games, food, and fire pits.    If  you  would  like  to  come  down  and  bring  the  family,  we  would love to see you!

I look forward to seeing you all on the level!
