Masters Message April 2023

Hello Brothers, Welcome to Spring!

Our March communication was the conferral of the Master Mason degree on three candidates, two of our own, and one Brother from Saint Albans. When you see Brothers Mark and Leonard, please welcome and congratulate them. Speaking of which, I would like to congratulate all of my officers on an absolutely spectacular job with this degree. I would also like to thank all the brethren that fulfilled a role. Without all of you, it wouldn’t be possible. Thank you!

Our communication this month will be our R:.W:. DDGM Gil Fontes final visitation to the Metro District. We hope to have a large attendance as we always do at Saint Johns 1P. It will be nice to send the Right Worshipful off to the Grand Council in true fashion.

Keeping in line with my theme of animal welfare for the year, at this meeting our guest speakers will be representatives from Pawswatch community cat center. Dianne LaPointe and her team of volunteers are truly remarkable and left us speechless when Brother Senior Deacon and I toured their facility. They will be speaking on their day-to-day operations, They will give us a behind the scenes look into what they do for these beautiful animals. Their facility is breathtaking, to say the least!

Save the date! Saturday, May 13th, we will be traveling to Hasbrouck Heights New Jersey to visit our Brethren at Euclid Lodge No.136, more details forthcoming.

Last month we started the donations that will continue for the rest of the Masonic year. We started off filling the box and getting Amazon and Chewy gift cards. Thank you thus far! I will repost a list of needs on our Facebook page as well.

Food
Adult and Puppy Dog Food, Adult and Kitten Cat Food (Dry Kibble and Canned Wet) Various Treats for Dogs and Cats (ie. Milk-bone, Temptations, etc.)

Supplies
Cat Litter, Pee Pads, Collars, Leashes, Antibacterial wipes. A much easier way to donate is an Amazon gift card, Chewy gift card, or Cash (to purchase said gift cards) in the amount of as little as five dollars, or more if you are able! Many shelters and organizations now have an Amazon wish list or a Chewy wish list. This makes donating a lot easier! All cards/cash collected will go on our Amazon and Chewy accounts. From there I will purchase the items they are in need of. They then ship the supplies directly to them! It will be accompanied by a note and a personal greeting card that I will send along to each organization with a message stating that the donation is from St. Johns Lodge No. 1P Freemasons.

All items can be dropped off preferably on Lodge night, or anytime at Scottish Rite. If you prefer to purchase the gift card, please be sure to hand the card(s) / cash to me or one of the officers. I will be sure to print out all of the donations we make to these shelters for all to read so you can see the difference we make!

If you reside out of state and would like to donate, please mail items or cards to:

Please be sure to make a reservation for dinner as we are expecting a large gathering.
