Greetings My Brothers!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As we transition into the holiday season, we move from giving thanks to giving back. We give gifts to friends and loved ones, share meals and wine, and give back to the greater good. Along that theme, our annual food basket program is on December 16th this year. The truck will be there at 6:00AM and the basket preparation will be underway by 7:00AM sharp. Please come on down to the Lodge for some fellowship and good works on December 16th!
On the evening of December 16th we will hold our annual St Johns Lodge 1P holiday party at the Shriners Imperial Room. We have a large and delicious menu planned, along with dancing, games, and fun! The reservation form was distributed via email and along with 2018 dues notices. Reservation deadline is December 6th.
Our December meeting night will be special treat this year. In 2016 we began an annual inter-visitation with Ezekiel Bates Lodge of Attleboro, MA. The meeting will be hosted by each Lodge on an alternating basis. On December 20th, we will hold our meeting at Ezekiel Bates Lodge, 71 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA. The meeting will open at the usual time of 6:00PM. After our closing, there will be a dinner. Around 8:00, the officers of Ezekiel Bates Lodge will hold their meeting, followed by a talk by the MWGM, Peter Iacobucci. Dinner will be $10 that evening, but please take note that the reservation deadline for calling in is December 12th.
Lodges from the Metropolitan Masonic District are working together for a fund District Charity event this year. The event will be part of the Penguin Plunge on January 1st at 9:00AM. The event takes places at Roger Wheeler Beach in Narragansett. We are hoping for 100 RI Masons to register. One does not have to plunge to register. The goal of this event is the raising of charity funds with some fellowship mixed in. If you would like to register or donate, please visit: www.firstgiving.com/sori/42nd-AnnualPenguin-Plunge.
Brothers, I wish you all a very merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a prosperous New Year. May the blessings of heaven rest upon you and your families.
With love and fraternity,
Edward D. Bertrand
